Paul DeBoer

Trumpet 


Dr. DeBoer holds the B.Mus degree in Trumpet Performance and the M. Mus. degree in Historical Musicology from the Manhattan School of Music. He holds the D. Mus. degree in Brass Pedagogy/Literature and Music History from Indiana University, Bloomington. His trumpet studies were with Louis Davidson, former principal trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra, Philip Smith, Principal Trumpet of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Gerard Schwarz, former principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic, and Cecil Collins of the Manhattan School. He has performed professionally with the Rochester Philharmonic, the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, The Roanoke (VA) Symphony Orchestra and the Indiana Festival Orchestra. 

Before coming to Houghton College, Dr. DeBoer taught at Howard Payne University, Liberty University and Roberts Wesleyan College.
