Cynthia Andrews

Violin 

Cynthia Andrews received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from Wheaton College and her Master of Music in Music Education degree from Eastman School of Music. She has taught strings in the Lynchburg Public School District (VA) and the Penfield Central  lessons in her home.
Prior to that, she was a violin teacher to pre-school age students through adults in the Community Education Division of the Eastman School of Music. She has played in the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, and Penfield Symphony Orchestra.
She volunteers as the Music Makers choir director at her church for grades 3-6. She has also taught grades 2-3 in the past. Approximately once a year, she has the string students in the church perform for a service. She had the privilege of helping her parents start a music program at a Christian orphanage in the Philippines for two summers while she was in high school, and then she went back alone for one summer during her college years. In 1998, she received the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Musicians’ Award for Outstanding Music Educators.
Her husband, Chuck, owns his own business, C&C Creations, where she assists when she has time. They have two children, Caleb and Caley, who both play string instruments and piano and enjoy sports as well.
