Isaac King

Viola

BMus (Cairn University)

Isaac King started his time as a performer at the age of six when his family started a band of stringed instruments playing classical, oldies, folk, musical, and fiddle music.  This then flourished into a love of playing which he pursued further at Cairn University under the study of Rachel Ku where he won the Cairn University Concerto Competition.

In 2021 Isaac attended the National Orchestral Institute+Festival which cemented his love for the orchestral repertoire.  In 2022 and 2023 Isaac King attended the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge Colorado, where in 2023 he served as the Principal violist and performed Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante on the final concert of the summer season.  In the summer of 2024, he was one of the Viola artists in the Rome Chamber Music Festival.

He has performed in many masterclasses with Midori, CJ Chiang, Matthew Lipman, and Katherine Murdock.  In his performances he has collaborated with musicians like Lawrence Dutton, Annie Fullard, Amy Schwartz-Moretti, Robert McDuffie, and David Kim.  Isaac Currently studies under Victoria Chiang and Becca Albers at the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings where he is completing his Artist Diploma.
