Cynthia Andrews received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from Wheaton College and her Master of Music in Music Education degree from Eastman School of Music. She has taught strings in the Lynchburg Public School District (VA)‚ was a violin teacher in the Community Education Division of the Eastman School of Music to pre-school age students through adults‚ and currently teaches string students at the elementary and high school levels in the Penfield Central School District (NY). She also teaches private violin lessons in her home. In 1998‚ she received the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Musicians’ Award for Outstanding Music Educators.
She has played in the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra‚ Roanoke Symphony Orchestra‚ Penfield Symphony Orchestra‚ and Greater Rochester Woman’s Philharmonic.
She volunteers as the Music Makers choir director at her church for grades 4-6. She had the privilege of helping her parents start a music program at a Christian orphanage in the Philippines for two summers while she was in high school‚ and then she returned for one summer as a college student.
Her husband‚ Chuck‚ owns his own business‚ C&C Creations‚ where she assists when she has time. They have two children‚ Caleb and Caley‚ who both play a string instrument and piano‚ enjoy sports‚ and help with the family business‚ too.
